Week 2
Many people are under the belief that math and art are opposites to one another and that these two fields don’t cross in any way. This is in fact false because everyday in one way or another you witness art that was created using some form of math. The integration of mathematics in art has transformed the way art is today whether we recognize it or not. Especially in today’s world where technology is a such a big part of our culture, math and science are even more prevalent in our everyday intake of media. From the layout of my computer screen to the social media sites we visit numerous times a day, math is used in art. The advancement of technology has certainly increased the need for math in art however it has always been there. Artists way before our time understood how to make a two-dimensional plane look three-dimensional as well as how to proportion their artwork to make it look more realistic.
